Three Dots
When I sent you that text
I meant it half joking,
100 percent serious.
I know it sounds silly at first
The simple question:
“Who do you have a crush on?”
Who makes your stomach flutter
Like a million paper cranes set to fly
Their delicate, sharp wings
Piercing every corner of your depression
And making you feel alive again
Who makes you feel safe and secure in yourself
Not thinking about any of the plaguing insecurities
That torment your life
All you can think about instead
Is their bouncy purple hair
And their priceless smile
Who makes you laugh so hard
Your chuckles fall like waterfalls,
Your vision grows so blurry with euphoria
Just by being in their presence
“Who is that for you?”
I texted to her, my fingers hesitating
With bubbly anticipation
Three dots, for only three seconds
But it feels like thousands of eternities
“That person”, she texts back,
“Is you.”
